Orange County’s Credit Union Chief Information Officer Angela Moran Honored by the Orange County Business Journal as a Woman in STEM

SANTA ANA, Calif. – June 7, 2024 – Orange County’s Credit Union, a Santa Ana-based financial services provider with more than 135,000 Members, is proud to announce that its Chief Information Officer Angela Moran is a recipient of Orange County Business Journal’s Women in STEM 2024 recognition. Joining an elite group of fellow honorees, Moran’s incredible accomplishments as chief information officer have led to widespread advancement not only at the Credit Union but also in the financial services industry.

A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience, Moran’s dedication to growth helped cultivate a five-year IT strategic roadmap for Orange County’s Credit Union that propelled the department into transformative operational excellence. With 19 IT projects fully realized in 2023 alone, the Credit Union’s IT department saw a 137% increase in productivity under her guidance.

“I’m honored and humbled to be recognized by the Orange County Business Journal,” said Moran. “As a woman in STEM, I’m acutely aware of the incredible advancements made by my peers and the significant challenges they face. Moran’s bold and forward-thinking technological visions are vital to customer satisfaction at Orange County’s Credit Union. Spearheading AI-driven endeavors, she leveraged algorithms to uncover creditworthy borrowers and introduced "Hal," an AI chatbot that enhances consumer loan services.

As a champion for fellow women in STEM, Moran’s impact transcends her current role. Through mentorship and contributions to STEM Advantage and Advancing Women in Technology, she is dedicated to advancing educational and professional opportunities for underserved communities and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives within the field.
